We went to an Easter Market at a monastery north of Stuttgart. The artists had beautiful eggs and we couldn't resist these. Our friends cut some branches from their hazel nut tree so we could hang our eggs. One of our sister missionaries decorated it for us.
We watched the artist doing an egg similar to this. Tiny little shapes to paint in.
This was one of Norm's favorites.
This was a Romanian artist.
We loved this one as soon as we spotted it. This is the size of an chicken egg.
The inscription on this egg is - "Family, where life takes its beginning and love never ends."
The artist put our name on the back of this egg . This is a larger egg - possible a duck egg.
This is an egg we got from an Easter Market last year right after we arrived in Germany.
Another egg we got last year.
This one was one of my favorites.
This is a small egg about half the size of a chicken egg. It has a scroll that
pulls out then winds back in. The words on the scroll translates to
"Now that the snow and ice has melted, the pasture greens, here red Linden scores bursting buds,
leave sprouts, blowing the resurrection breath through the germinating country."
Linden is a tree here in Germany.
Another favorite one - beautiful colors - intricate work!.
These are the fairy tale eggs. The story on this one has to do with one maiden helping
and getting a basket full and another maiden not helping and not getting much.
These eggs are painted then scratched off.
Another beautiful egg.
This artist also had wrapping paper with the same designs of the eggs.
I love the chickens!!
This is our tree - branches from the hazel nut tree - we like the gnarled branches.
