Senior Missionaries!!!! We need more!

Elder and Sister Thurman will be finishing their mission in less than two weeks!  Our friends and neighbors from Layton, Utah.  They are the reason we are here.

Our Mission Conference in Munich with Elder Bednar in April
Our Senior Mission Conference in Salzburg, Austria in March.  Several of these couples have gone or going home.  We need more Senior Missionaries!!!!!

We visited the Hollerzollern Castle a few weeks ago. This castle will be a movie set in July. Also at the end of this month, we will see "Merchant of Venice" in the courtyard.

This is a picture of the castle (from the internet)

From the walkway around the castle. Lots of small dorfs (villages) below.
 Elder Bos
We came out of this opening behind us from a secret door in the basement of the castle.
Loved the door.

 Ceiling of the church.

Detailed doorknobs all over the castle.

We rode the shuttle up the mountain and walked down after our visit.

Fruhlingsfest (Spring Festival), Lamb jam and rape and spargle fields

Fruhlingsfest is Spring Festival. Lots of carnival rides, games and eats. We went on P day with the young missionaries. They are riding in the other car on the gigantic ferris wheel (really gigantic!!!)
 Elders in the other car.
We weren't even at the very top of the ferris wheel when I took this picture.
Elder Bos and I thought this would be a fun ride. No no no!! We thought it was a roller coaster - well it was, but each individual car twisted and spun. It was dark inside and flashing lights. I had to have my eyes shut the whole time and didn't feel great when it finished. That was our last ride!!!
 Elder Bos before the ride.
We came upon a lamb jam.
Right in front of our car.
These are rape fields - the seed is made into vegetable oil.
Another rape field - they are all over and a beautiful yellow.
A spargle field - this is white aparagus - very mild. It's grown under the soil with
these covers over the soil to keep out all sunlight which is why it is white.
White spargle field.
