Munich and Elder Bednar
We have this wonderful opportunity tomorrow to drive to Munich (2 1/2 hours away), see sights on the way and have dinner with our friends and neighbors from Layton, Utah, Elder Don and Sister Shanna Thurman. This will be the last time we see them before they finish their mission and head back to Utah. On Saturday, all the missionaries in our mission 200+ will meet in Munich with Elder Bednar. We are very excited to be with an apostle and hear his counsel. Hopefully we will get pictures of the trip and post later.
District going away party and Mercedes Museum.
We went to the
Mercedes Museum on a P-day with our district leaders, Elders Wiberg and Harvey
along with Elders Bos and Zaugg. A beautiful museum. We had a going away party
for two of our district missionaries and this was our dessert made by Sister
Zaugg. A picture of our district: Sister Bushman, Sister Threlkeld (she was
going home), Elders Wiberg, Harvey (in front), Sharp (tall one in the back - he
was going home), Ridd. Along with senior missionaries Elder and Sister Zaugg
and Elder and Sister Bos on our balcony. We have grilled hamburgers, chips,
green salad, jello salad, root beer floats, and fruit torte. A good old
American meal.
A little bit of everything
A little bit of everything . . . (1) A lending
library in a phone booth. (2) Our dryer sitting in our living room. People tend
not to have dryers. (3) Norman assembling a study chair for the missionaries.
Part of our job is to inspect seven missionary apartments (including ours) once
every 6 weeks and repair anything that we can or purchase needed items. (4) Our
new (2005) car - Mercedes Benz wagon (we have really used it to haul stuff).
(5) Norman eating a pretzel waiting for a bus. (6) We have a bier garden (beer
garden) across the street and up the hill about 200 steps. We went hiking
around one day - our apartment building is in the background. (7) The list with
times zones so we can remember not to call or text our kids too early in the
morning their time.
